Midland GXT100 Walkie-Talkies
The Midland 36-Channel 2-Way Radio set is among on our most vital equipment list. We use them every time we park the Airstream in a camp spot. There’s no need to holler at each other disturbing the neighbors or the bears. We just calmly and quietly speak into the walkie-talkie while one spots obstacles outside and the other very slowly backs up or pulls into a narrow spot. So far, we’ve had no run-ins with electrical towers, fences, hanging tree limbs, etc. Plus, when we are in an area where there is no cell service, these radios come in handy when we separate to walk the dog, drive away to deposit trash, go shopping or hike or paddle (stored in a dry-bag while on paddles). Communication is key while traveling with a partner – especially when in the wilderness. Cell signals are not dependable for cell phone communication in most National Parks and in the best wilderness retreats. We keep these radios charged and ready at all times.
