Departure Check List

First thing!!!

  • Raise stabilizers before hitching to truck!!!!!

Inside

  • Dog scarf sprayed with Adaptil
  • Two sliding doors secured with straps
  • Bathroom counter cleared
  • Place shower head resting on shower floor
  • Turn off water pump
  • Depressurize plumbing
  • Bathroom mirror door check
  • Turn off water heater
  • Fan vents closed
    • Bedroom
    • Bathroom
    • Livingroom
  • Refrigerator
    • Glass check inside
    • Door shut locked
    • Gas light on
    • Auto light off
    • Check light off
  • Secure pantry with 3 bungees and close door
  • Is Stove off and covered?
  • Knife Bar check
  • Turn off furnace/air conditioner
  • Inverter off
  • Empty dog water dish
  • Close all windows and lock them
  • Close all blinds
  • Stow all loose items
  • Take out trash
  • Sweep floor
  • All cabinets shut?
  • Turn off lights
    • Interior
    • Porch
  • Place on bed
  • Secured

Outside

  • Secure Awnings for travel
  • Dump sewage
  • Stow 
  • Close electrical plug cover
  • Lock all storage doors
  • Check tire pressure
  • Hitch setup
    • Check that jack is up
    • Chains crossed and connected
    • Breakaway Brake switch attached
    • Trunnion bars attached and pins secure
    • 7 way plug attached
    • Carter pin locked and 7-way cable and emergency brake threaded thru it
    • Velcro emergency brake cable to shank
  • Is LP tanks secured and cover locked?
  • Make sure back storage shelf pins are in place to lock it

Last Things

  • Stow steps
  • Lock main door
  • Walk around and verify locked windows
  • Look around for stuff under trailer, truck and campsite
  • Check wheel wells in truck and trailer for ‘creatures’
  • Check trailer lights with Truck

As Pulling out

  • Move rig and verify wheels rotate
  • Look around campsite for trash
  • Verify trailer brake functioning
