It took us nearly five years to discover melaboo (melamine/bamboo) flatware.
These dinner plates by Q-Squared have the appearance of wheel-thrown matte-glaze earthenware but are half the weight and will not chip or break.
Run your hand over the surface and the texture feels like single-fired unglazed stoneware. Each piece has unique markings – having slightly different pinholes, brush marks – the sort of imperfections common to turned pottery. The subtle tones in biscuit and rustic caramel raw glaze trim are a perfect match for our woodsy classic Airstream. The look is French country and an ideal background for our favorite foods.
We don’t know how Q-Squared managed to make these gorgeous unbreakable and unscratchable portable service dishes, but we’re thrilled to have this designer dinnerware onboard.

Before Q-Squared, we were using Corelle, but had too much breakage. It’s no fun when a dish drops and splinters all over the floor – especially when you’re hungry! Another problem with the Corelle is that our titanium dinnerware scratched the surface, making it look dingy in no time. This dinnerware is not microwavable, but that is no problem for us. We use paper in the microwave, always have – so no big deal.
As of this writing, we’ve been using Q-squared for two years and absolutely love it. The Q-squared looks exactly the same as it did the day we bought it – no breaking, marring, chipping or discoloration … and no scratching even with our forks and knives.
