It took us nearly five years to discover melaboo (melamine/bamboo) flatware. These small dip bowls by Q-Squared look like wheel-thrown matte-glaze earthenware but is half the weight and will not chip or break or scratch.
Run your hand over the surface and the texture feels like single-fired unglazed stoneware. Each piece appears unique, having slightly different pinholes and the sort of imperfections – like real turned pottery. The subtle tones in biscuit and thin caramel raw glaze trim are a perfect match for our woodsy classic Airstream. The look is French country, an ideal background for our favorite foods. Our Full-time Travel Lifestyle philosophy is that every meal should be a special event. There’s nothing better than dining in style wherever we are – even if it’s only a parking lot.
We don’t know how Q-Squared managed to make these gorgeous unbreakable and unscratchable portable service dishes, but we’re thrilled to have this designer dinnerware onboard.
Before Q-Squared, we were using Corelle, but had too much breakage. It’s no fun when a dish drops and splinters all over the floor – especially when you’re hungry! Another problem with the Corelle is that our titanium dinnerware scratched the surface, making it look dingy in no time. The very month we’d had enough of glass dishes onboard, we found Q-Squared which had just been released in home stores.
Q-Squared comes in several beautiful, classic designs which suit most tastes.
This dinnerware is not microwavable, but that is no problem for us. We use paper in the microwave, always have – so no big deal.
As of this writing, we’ve been using Q-squared for two years and absolutely love it. The Q-squared looks exactly the same as it did the day we bought it – no breaking, marring, chipping or discoloration … and no scratching even with our aluminum alloy forks and knives.
We have the complete set of dinner plates, salad plates, large serving bowls, cereal bowls, long serving platter, large serving platter, and these dip bowls which we use for salsa, guacamole, steamed rice and condiment bowls for Taco Night.
